Pediatric Therapy Packages
Therapeutic Assessment Package for Under 5's (3 sessions)
This package consists of 3 intensive 1 hour sessions aimed at assessing the speech, language and communication skills of young children through a combination of formal and informal play assessment, discussion with parents and it also includes a 30 minute therapy session and a brief written report summarizing our findings.
Therapeutic Assessment Package for school children (4 sessions)
This second assessment package is targeted at older children and provides an in-depth formal assessment ( CELF- Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals) and informal assessment of verbal reasoning, problem solving, metalinguistic skills and other higher language organization skills. It also includes a written report of the results.
Tiny Tots Program (5 sessions )
This package has been specially geared at early identification of children with a mild speech and language delay and aims to empower parents to facilitate, stimulate and support the development of speech and language skills in their toddlers.The package consists of 4 intensive 1 hour sessions, where the therapist engages the child in play and various techniques and ideas for activities are demonstrated to the parents, at the end of which a home plan for activities is given to the parents.
The package also includes a 5th follow up session after a period of 1 to 3 months to review the progress made in the child’s communication skills and ensure their speech and language skills are within normal limits.
Articulation Package(7 sessions)
This package is suitable for children and adults who need to correct specific speech production errors and improve the clarity of their speech. Over the course of 7 sessions ( 45 minutes each) the target speech sounds are worked on in a structured and systematic way, first individually and then in syllables, words, phrases, sentences and finally transferred to conversational speech.
Speech & Language Therapy (10 sessions)
At ISSW we offer a pediatric speech and language therapy package for children who require direct intensive therapy. This consists of a block of 10 sessions (45 minutes each) and includes one extra session free of charge for setting the goals and/ or evaluating the progress made in the previous block.
School and Child Care Based Therapy Service
When requested by parents, ISSW offers the value added service of providing therapy in the preschool and child care centres. Our therapists will work closely with the school teachers and parents to facilitate the development of communication skills needed in a school setting. There is a monthly billing plan for this. Ask our therapists for more details.
Social Communication Group Therapy ( 4 to 6 sessions)
This group therapy package is aimed at developing social interaction and communication skills in a small group of children of the same age. By engaging the children in structured activities, games and role-play, they are able to develop a range of communication skills like turn-taking, waiting, giving and taking, vocabulary building, asking and responding to questions appropriately and topic maintenance.
The children get an opportunity to develop social play skills and learn to participate in simple collaborative work. This if often run during school holidays or when there is a select group requiring the social skills practice in a structured environment. It is an ideal also for enabling quiet and shy children to become more confident and communicative.
Speak Easy Package for dysfluency management (Basic Program -10 intensive sessions; Advanced Program- 10 sessions)
This package is for children and adults with fluency problems. The Basic Program consists of a series of activities, that are progressively build up in terms of challenge, through which the client learns to use the strategies taught for generating and maintaining fluent smooth speech.
The Advanced Program aims to facilitate the transfer and generalization of the newly acquired fluency skills outside clinical settings and in challenging communication contexts.
